It’s the moment the Saudi international had been waiting for.
Salem Al Dawsari’s loan move to Villarreal in January has not gone according to plan, the Saudi international having yet to make an first team appearance as the last day of La Liga season approached.
On Saturday, his wishes came true with 33 minutes left of his club’s home fixture against Real Madrid.
Al Dawsari, who will be part of Saudi’s World Cup squad in Russia this summer, played his part too as Villarreal came back from goals down to draw 2-2 at the Estadio de la Ceremica.

Real Madrid had taken a commanding lead through Gareth Bale (11) and Cristiano Ronaldo (32), before the home team responded with efforts from Al Dawsari’s fellow substitutes Roger martinez (71) and Samu Castillejo (85). The Saudi forward also received a stoppage time booking.
